Heute las ich im science.orf.at, dass früher (vor langer, laaaanger Zeit) an den Unis Prüfungen nicht Teil des Curriculums waren, sondern freiwillig abgelegt werden durften und man sogar extra Geld dafür zahlen musste. Prüfungen dienten als Serviceleistung, damit die Studierenden sehen konnten, ob sie den Stoff verstanden hatten. Dass sich das so entwickelt hat, wie es jetzt ist, dass Prüfungen eigentlich die Hauptsache im Studium ausmachen, mag verschiedene Gründe haben. Die erste Theorie, die mir einfiel: Die Gesellschaft erachtete das Bestehen von Prüfungen für so wichtig, es wurden geprüfte Hochschulabsolventen so stark gegenüber ungeprüften bevorzugt, dass bald alle Studierenden Prüfungen machten bzw. es zum guten Ton gehörte und dann schließlich fixer Bestandteil des Studiums wurde, weil man nun der Meinung war, dass ein Studium ohne Prüfungen nichts wert sei. Ich habe mir auf www.begabtenzentrum.at einige Modelle zur Begabungsförderung kurz angesehen; mein Eindruck: Manche dieser Modelle enthalten eine noch stärkere Strukturierung der Zeit, welche die Schüler täglich an der Schule verbringen müssen. Genau das halte ich für falsch, weil Menschen nicht unbedingt so funktionieren, dass sie mit einem extern vorgegebenen Zeitplan glücklich werden. Ich bin der Meinung, man solle den begabten Kindern einfach Lesen, Schreiben, Rechnen und grundlegende Allgemeinbildung vermitteln und sie ansonsten das tun lassen, was ihnen Freude bereitet, und sie dabei, wenn sie es wollen, unterstützen (z.B. durch Anschaffen von Fachliteratur oder von Werkzeugen, durch das Ermöglichen von Kontakten zu Experten usw.).

Yesterday's psychiatry lecture has awakened an emotional state which I haven't felt for years: It's hard to describe, it's kind of like that there's your destiny and that it's good. I had a dream: I invented a new video game during this dream. And at the end of my dream, the background story appeared in my head, which will be displayed in the intro: "For thousands of years, Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu have been fighting for the rule of the world. So say the Zoroastrians. If Ahura Mazda wins, there will be eternal life for everybody. In order to make Ahura Mazda win, Dr. Claus D. I've read Wikipedia pages about Saxony. It seems to be a nice landscape with great cities. Some of the photos of Zwickau and Leipzig at Wikipedia are amazing, check them out - I doubt you'll regret it.
