In any case, the Austrian association has clearly developed in the wrong direction: There some older women took over the helm, who regard the association as quasi their private property and try their best to get rid of all members who do not suit them and cannot or do not want to adapt to their ideas. This concerns above all academics and highly educated ones - these are no longer desired in this association. About two years ago, a member of the board even said openly that she wanted membership in the Austrian High Intelligence Association to be open only to non-academics in future. Anyone with a school-leaving certificate would not need such an association, because their needs would be met by the university anyway.
So instead of opening up to people of all kinds and promoting mutual understanding, there is pressure to adapt; some people who dominate the association want to dominate all other members and tell them how to lead their lives.
The creation of this high-intelligence association can be seen as a kind of experiment. Obviously the result of this experiment is that an open and tolerant society has developed into a closed and intolerant society. From my point of view, the question arises whether it should be regarded as a law of nature that open societies develop into closed societies sooner or later.
In July 2018, I founded the informal association "Prudentia High IQ Society" in order to give highly gifted people a new home. Link: http://www.prudentia.club/
Prudentia will focus on two issues in particular:
- How are gifted and highly gifted discriminated against by ordinary people, and what could be done about it?
- How could the social position of the gifted and the highly gifted be improved?
I cordially invite everyone with an IQ of over 140 to join Prudentia.
